You Get What You Get and You Don't Get Upset

Acckk! I made a goal to at LEAST post something once a month. And it's the last day of the month at 11:00pm. I'm cutting it pretty close.

Okay, 10 points to someone who knows what book the blog title is from. (Hint: it rhymes with a famous bubble gum brand. ) I volunteered in Allison's class last week and the kids in her class kept saying variations on this saying--"you get what you get and you don't get chicken pox" or " you get what you get and you don't get a banana." I'm not sure why it was so funny, but they just couldn't stop giggling.

Anyway, when I went through my camera tonight and found 3 pictures I was reminded of our little saying. So here it is:

Exciting, eh? The other pictures are a variation on "an ode to craigslist patio furniture." We took a lot of pictures, but unfortunately they are on Steve's work camera and Rachel's camera. So I'll have to post pictures later. And remember, you get what you get and you don't get a popsicle.

So to summarize this month:

Steve and Jamie: Wild trip to New Orleans! With a baby! What fun! With Steve's bosses! Oh joy!

Allison: Turned 5 this month. Had a FABULOUS birthday. Loves her new bike. Thinks she's pretty grown up now and will be able to drive and date next week.

Lindsay: Inherited the tricycle. Has no clue how to ride it. Thinks it's fun anyway. Has severely damaged my hearing with all the shrieking she does.

Sarah: Wild trip to New Orleans! Late nights! Long car drives! What joy! What fun! (Have I used enough exclamation points yet?) Will be crawling very soon!

Next month: Pictures! Fellowship location announcement!

Yay!! I always love your updates! Ben always says, "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit!" ...If only he practiced what he preached.

Sorry to have burst your bubble.

I'm excited to hear where the fellowship will be!

What a nice way to celebrate another year gone by, and a new one coming in. Glad the girls are doing so well, too. Love, Gma G.

Fun month, fun Craig's List patio furniture, and even more fun waiting for your internship announcement! Oh, can we forget how much fun you'll be having once Sarah starts crawling! Hang on James, the fun is just beginning!

We're all looking forward to finding out where you're going for the Fellowship. Maybe to the Shire....

You should have mentioned that you came back from your new orleans trip with an amazing ability to replicate cajun cuisine!!
I can see Allison asking for the keys to the car one of these days...
Can't wait to hear the details about the fellowship!
(Obviously I'm addicted to using too many exclamation points. I just love them!!!!!!!)

You have pictures on my camera?? Oh yeah! Allison's b-day party!

I hope that you guys go to Florida so that we can visit you in an exotic place. :)

Fun times!

Given your title, I thought you were going to offer up the world's best parenting advice. I know I should know the source, but it's escaping me at the moment. Regardless, I am thinking those might be the magic words to use with Laura these days...

Gotta love Craigs list! Is Allison in pre-school?

I have no clue where this saying comes from. I should read more often!
Patio furniture looks great!
YAY for Birthday's, hand me down trikes and babies and late night car rides with bosses!!!! (okay, maybe not the baby, car, late night with bosses thing!)
I am excited for you and your next adventure. (as excited as I can be knowing that it won't be here) :(

PINKALICIOUS! Ava has also inherited Ella's tricycle and also has no clue how to ride it. Next time you bring your girls to town, we should really get our girls together. Every time you post, I think, "That sounds just like my girls."
